A & D’s Sweet, Nerdy Wedding at the University Club Irvine

Congratulations to A & D, who got married with me in a sweet and nerdy wedding at the University Club in Irvine!

Not only did we start the ceremony with the classic Princess Bride “Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today” but ended with a fantastic reading that combined edited quotes from the married scientists Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan. Did I mention the rings made by THEE jeweler responsible for The One Ring from the LOTR movies carried in a box inspired by Harry Potter’s Book of Monsters?

IT WAS AWESOME.

When we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted a personalized ceremony that was inclusive, respected our personal beliefs and most importantly something that felt like us. Marie delivered that and so much more. She took the time to get to know us as a couple but also as individuals over a couple zoom calls. She sent us each a questionnaire to get to know us and our story. She then used our responses to create a heartfelt and humorously nerdy ceremony that matched our personalities perfectly. She gave us samples and suggestions on writing our own vows. Marie has such a warm and inviting personality, when we finally met her in-person on the wedding day it felt like meeting up with an old friend. I would recommend Marie to anyone who wants a wedding ceremony that’s off the beaten path, or even just different from what a standard wedding ceremony offers. Her website says “anti-boring weddings” and she truly means it.
