Big Bear Recommendations
As a semi-local who has been going to Big Bear since the 1990s and with something like 100 elopements performed here since 2011, you can say I have my favorites! Here are my recommendations for the best local folks to have an amazing experience.

- Teddy Bear Restaurant – This aptly named restaurant is open all day and a huge hit with tourists. It’s all about American comfort food classics, with both in-house and take-out options.
- Sweet Basil Bistro – If a more romantic spot is the vibe, then this intimate Italian spot is where you want to be. You can enjoy wine, pizza, and pasta to your heart’s content with dine-in, take-out, or delivery options.
- Grizzy Manor Cafe – Pancakes bigger than your head, diner coffee, Instagrammable hot cocoa, crazy stickers on the wall. This beloved tiny breakfast cafe has been featured in Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives as well as Travel Channel’s Chowdown Champ for a reason!
- 572 Social – Want something with a more modern flair and finer dining without being stuffy? With both indoor and outdoor seating available, this eatery gives you a variety of beer, wine, and cocktail options in addition to their food offerings of pub dishes with a modern Cali twist. Great if you have a larger party for dinner!
