J & M Marry at the Desert Island Country Club

Congratulations to J and M, who got married with me in Rancho Mirage!

J has Jewish heritage, so it was really important that we honored that. It started with a chuppah (which was his grandfather’s tallit, may his memory be a blessing) and kiddish from his bar mitzvah cup.

I told the story of how they met and fell in love. Honestly, we had several good laughs because they were totally correct when they told me their lives are quite the sitcom!

Once we told the story of how they got here, it was time to focus on our purpose. In Jewish tradition, a couple circles each other a total of seven times to show mutual offer and acceptance of the marriage before saying their vows.

And, of course, we had to close with the smashing of the glass and a Mazel Tov!

Marie has such a beautiful way with words! We hired Marie to create a custom ceremony for us and she completely blew us away. We met with Marie a couple times during the planning process to tell her a little bit more about us and what we wanted out of our ceremony. We also each filled out a thoughtful questionnaire she provided to tell her more about what we love about each other. Using all of this information Marie put together a ceremony that had everything we wanted! Some religious and cultural elements, but the majority of the ceremony was really about us and our love story. Our friends and family kept telling us how perfect the ceremony felt and how "us" it was. Throughout the entire planning process Marie was organized, proactive, and professional. I definitely recommend Marie, she will get to know you and put together something even better than you could have imagined.
