When Sarah and Matt were searching for a Murrieta wedding officiant, they wanted someone who could really highlight their personalities. Matt has a great sense of humor and Sarah is a romantic without being too sappy.
As we talked, Sarah and I bonded over our shared Jewish heritage and hippy, flower-child ways while Matt and I joked around and even exchanged recommendations for sushi places. (Sushi Station in Riverside is pretty bomb, if you are in the area.) We talked about ways to make their ceremony light-hearted and romantic at the same time, which I knew I could do for them.
Here’s a piece of the ceremony about how they met:
It all started when they met at work. Matt was clocking in on his first day when this beautiful woman rushed up. He introduced himself and was politely brushed aside because she was nearly late
and was trying to beat the clock. At the end of her shift, Sarah felt badly about brushing the guy off, so she went over and properly introduced herself to Matt. He told me (and I quote), “she immediately fell in love with my rugged handsomeness”, which actually isn’t too far off the mark. Sarah said not only was he handsome, but also really funny. They immediately hit it off and were chatting like old friends.
Now, when I asked Matthew when it was he knew that Sarah was the one for him, he said it was at work before they started dating. She was imploring him to buy a master sword and shield replica from the video game Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He looked at her and asked point-blank, “Where have you been all my life?”
They obviously were meant to be. 😍
