Is a Short & Sweet Elopement right for me?

Here are some scenarios I designed this service for.

You want to get married with maybe a few people and no stress, just fun and love and smiles.
You want something simple, like a Marriage License Signing but with a little more oomph, and you want people there to witness it. Plus, you don’t want to have to work too hard to figure how how to get the marriage license or stress about locations.
You’re heading out to a private cabin or Airbnb and want a super cute and easy ceremony with just you two. Or maybe even you two a few loved ones and fur friends!

My husband and I decided to elope and didn't know where to start. I Googled elopements in the area we chose to elope and found a few options. After looking at Marie's website, I knew she was the one I wanted to marry us! She had so many good reviews and sooo many beautiful pictures with happy couples. Frequently Asked Questions About Short & Sweet Elopements

Where can we do this?

You can choose any public place (park, beach, etc.) you want, but you are fully responsible for obtaining any required permits for that location. (Yes, they are required a vast majority of the time at most public locations. Even Airbnbs require permission of the owners.) I know some people will wonder if I can do this at their home. I don’t do these elopements in people’s homes or backyards for several reasons, first for my own safety but also because it’s incredibly rare for a “home elopement” stay an elopement (it usually becomes a wedding too fast for even the couple to handle).

If you don’t want to mess with all that, you can choose one of my secret spots in the booking form. These are places I’ve worked at for years and I know are elopement friendly and are some the rare places that don’t require permits! You can choose from locations in Big Bear Lake, Dana Point, or Riverside. Please note that I don’t advertise the details of my secret spots because I don’t want others causing problems or overrruning them. So, should you choose to go with one of my secret spots, the address and location details will be provided to you once you’re booked.

Do you issue marriage licenses?

No, I do not. But part of my service is guiding you through the process of getting the Marriage License all the way through how to get your Marriage Certificate once you are married.

Do we need a witness?

It depends.

If you acquire a Public Marriage License, yes, you will need to bring a witness.
If you acquire a Confidential Marriage License, no, you don’t! It can be just us.

Why is there a maximum of 10 guests for the Short & Sweet elopement?

First, most places where elopements happen only allow about that many people.

Secondly, remember when you said you wanted something simple? Well, an event with more than a dozen people is no longer simple. It’s like herding cats to get that many people to move even 50 yards. Plus, the more people you invite, the more expectations are heaped onto your elopement. Suddenly your Mom is asking why you don’t have seating for Grandma? Who is walking you down the aisle? What do you mean there’s no aisle and no music??

Every couple this has happened to thinks they’ll be the exception, but it happened to them too!

That’s why there is a hard limit of 10 guests, no exceptions to ensure I can provide you the amazing stress-free elopement experience I promised.

Please note that I do not perform elopements on Fridays and Saturdays. I understand that this availabilty calendar shows Fridays and Saturdays as sometimes available, but that’s because this is my full availablity for weddings, elopements, meetings, etc.
